BLACK FRIDAY RIDE #1 – Route Update

We had to make a slight change to the route today (11/21/17). Speir Road isn’t available to us and has been taken out (Approx. mile 24.2). We will now stay straight on Chenny Road until it intersects with Cemetery Road, where we will take a RIGHT and be back on the original route. No big loss.

Both the RideWithGPS and MapMyRide links have been corrected.

Many of the roads were scraped this week and are currently in GREAT condition. The rain that is expected over the next 24 hours could change the conditions a little . . . or a LOT. We’ll just have to find out on Friday.

ROUTE CUE SHEET – BFR#1

This event is completely self-supported and is a ride-at-your-own-pace event. The route isn’t and won’t be marked in any shape, form, or fashion. You will need to come prepared to ride using a GPS, MapMyRide, RideWithGPS, or some other form of navigation (or you can take the Bill Riddle approach and just ride with someone who knows where they’re going). The route will take you through Bronwood around mile #15 in case you’re in need of a store stop.

Keep in mind that route conditions can change drastically due to current or recent weather conditions. Plan accordingly. (You will probably encounter at least a little mud.)

Of the 40 miles, approximately 32 miles is dirt/gravel.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

  • Helmet
  • Phone and/or GPS

You are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to bring refreshments and a chair for after the ride.
